Civil Concepts provided the forensic engineering, on site clerk and construction management on behalf of the insurance company when a 75′ diameter, new construction steel digester tank lid collapsed under vacuum conditions.  By implementing our CPM Schedule and running a resource utilization analysis, we demonstrated that the contractors proposed service crane was not only much larger and more expensive than what was required,  but it also did not need to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as initially proposed, which resulted in significant cost savings to the client.  In addition, our review of in place subcontracts and purchase orders and cost escalation analysis for steel resulted in a significant savings in comparison to the original proposed costing.
